Gamdom Blackjack
Beat the dealer to 21 at Gamdom's Original table, in studio-built RNG versions or with a live dealer. This guide covers the rules, card values, the decisions that matter and how to sit down with a crypto balance.
Game basics
Blackjack at Gamdom in one minute
You and the dealer each receive two cards; one of the dealer's stays face down. The aim is a hand total closer to 21 than the dealer's without going over. An ace with a ten-value card on the first two cards is a blackjack and pays 3:2 at the Original table.
After the deal you choose to hit (take a card), stand (keep your total), double (double the stake for exactly one more card) or split (turn a pair into two hands). The dealer then plays by fixed rules — drawing to 16 and standing on 17 — so there is no decision-making on their side.
If both hands tie, the bet is returned as a push. Insurance is offered when the dealer shows an ace; it pays 2:1 but is a losing bet in the long run for most players.
Card values
What each card counts for
Number cards two through ten count as printed.
Jack, queen and king all count ten, making ten-value cards the most common in the shoe.
An ace counts eleven unless that would bust the hand, in which case it counts one. Hands with a flexible ace are called "soft".
Playing blackjack
The four decisions
Every hand comes down to one of these. Basic strategy charts tell you which to pick against each dealer up-card.
Take another card. Standard on low totals (11 or less) and on most hands of 12–16 against a dealer 7 or higher.
Keep your total. Always on hard 17+, and on 12–16 when the dealer shows a 4, 5 or 6.
Double your stake for one final card. Strongest on 10 or 11 when the dealer shows a lower card.
Turn a pair into two hands with a second stake. Always with aces and eights; never with tens.
